ABOUT THE OBSOLETE VOCABULARY OF THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE

The purpose of the article is to analyze the outdated vocabulary of the vocabulary of the modern dictionary of the Russian language, to determine the meanings of historicisms and ethnographicisms, the concepts behind them. The work used traditional linguistic methods: direct observation, functional-dynamic description, the method of component analysis. As a result, groups of words related to obsolete vocabulary were identified: separate series of historicisms and ethnographisms. The authors of the article come to the conclusion that the division of the vocabulary into active and passive passive parts is conditional.
