ECONOMIC ("COMMODITY") SMUGGLING: POLITICAL AND CRIMINOLOGICAL PREREQUISITES FOR FORMING CRIMINAL COUNTERACTION

The article examines the problems of counteracting customs crimes, which have become aggravated and received new development in the context of the integration of the Russian economy with the world economy. The author defines strategically important directions of combating "economic" smuggling, including smuggling of cash and (or) monetary instruments, as well as alcoholic beverages and (or) tobacco products. The regulatory framework for the implementation of this activity is analyzed, its individual imperfections are revealed. Speaking about the prevention of these offenses, the authors note that the corresponding preventive measures should be carried out at the grassroots level - the level of specific enterprises and organizations carrying out foreign economic and related operations, and point to some omissions in their implementation on the example of a specific economic society
