The reduction of thyroid hormones in organs and tissues leads to the development of hypothyroidism. Uzbekistan belongs to a region with an iodine deficiency. Measures are being taken to prevent iodine deficiency disorders. Work has been done to assess the occurrence of subclinical hypothyroidism (SU) in women living in the Shahrhigan district ( village Sohiobod) of the Andijan region.
Among women aged between 18 and 65, the SG rate was 12 per cent, with a higher rate than among women aged over 40 than among those aged under 30. In the group of women with TTT >2.5mME/L, anti-TTPA was found to be higher than standard values in 32% of women, while in the group of women with TTG >4.05mME/L with TTG concentrations >26%. Excess body weight was found in 47% (30.8%) and obesity was found in 16% (10.2%) women surveyed.
