The article describes the results of an empirical study devoted to the study of the role of communicative competence as an important resource for the psychological adaptability of an individual. On the basis of the data presented, the author obtains a substantiation for his assumption that communicative competence determines qualitative differences in the level and characteristics of the psychological adaptability of young people
