In the modern world the formation of Russia as a new international educational center for training higher education personnel creates a qualitatively new situation in the world. Today, the number of foreigners studying at Russian universities is significant and constantly growing. Therefore, the problems of socialization of such citizens, intercultural and interethnic communication come to the fore. It is important to analyze the situation in this area at the current moment and in the future, to highlight the main aspects of the social and demographic structure of foreign citizens in the Russian Federation, to assess the process of internationalization of students, including a sharp impact on the growth in the number of students
