SERPENT GORYNYCH AND THE DRAGON: RELATIVES OR STRANGERS?

The article investigates a vivid folklore image - the Serpent Gorynych. The images of the Serpent Gorynych and those of the European and Chinese dragons are compared, common features are identified, and differences are presented.
