The origins of the development of Christian ethical and philosophical traditions are considered. It is shown that moral and ethical issues occupy one of the main places among the values of Christianity. The foundations of Christian ethics, written in the Bible, have the character of eternal values and influence the spiritual life of people in all subsequent historical epochs. Christianity formed the meanings of nature and human existence. These meanings were based on the justification of human creativity and freedom, which could not but affect the entire European, including Russian, culture.
