NEW DIRECTIONS OF TEACHING THE "SOLAR SYSTEM"

In astronomy textbooks, the material on the topic of the structure of the solar system and its origin is set out from textbooks from the beginning of the last century, which contradicts new discoveries and the observed structure. The erroneousness of the concept of the formation of the solar system from only planets and the assignment of the status "dwarf planet" to asteroids and objects, stated in the textbooks, is substantiated. The status leads to the misconception of students about the many planets in the solar system, as was the case with Pluto. On the basis of new discoveries and the development of the hypothesis, O.Yu. Schmidt, the author obtained a model of the entire solar system, which reveals new secrets in its structure, new parameters of its outskirts and patterns.
